Monthly Report; May 2018:
We’re excited about two seemingly contrary ideas; traveling on and building a home. We found a homesite in St George Utah, but it won’t be available until fall, so we’re traveling north to spend summer in the Puget Sound of Washington State. But, these two actions are actually compatible since even after we establish ourselves in a home base we’ll continue traveling from there. There’s a lot on our minds and we’re excited about it all.
On the road again. After a winter of long stays in Arizona and Mexico we’re back in the fifth wheel and traveling. May was mostly spent in Nevada exploring the out-of-the-way canyons and mountains in the far north-eastern corner of the state. This is a cowboy country; a vast region of huge desert basins interrupted by ranges of high, snow-covered mountains. This is the Basin and Range country of the interior mountain west where there’s more jackrabbits than people. Our article on Far Eastern Nevada is reported under CURRENT TRAVELS, Travels 2018.
After two years on the road we’ve found that as much as we still enjoy traveling, we want a home base. But that was the plan from the beginning; to travel until we were ready to establish a base to travel from. So, we’ve discovered that we’re actually following the original plan we decided on two years ago which was to travel until we were ready to re-establish a home base. Don’t you love it when a plan comes together.
