Monthly Report; September 2018
Southward bound. We’ll land in Tucson for early winter, but wondering where to go from there. France to see friends? Mexico to see whales? Or, will we start building our final home base, either in New Mexico or Utah. We’re imagining a busy winter in any case.
We spent September in a RV Park in the Wallowa Valley of NE Oregon. Using the park as a base, we hiked into the Eagle Cap Wilderness and into the depths of Hell’s Canyon. We joined in on local events like barn dances and music festivals. Winter arrives early in the Wallowas, and by end of September we were heading southward, towards New Mexico to check out some prospective land to buy.
We’re finding we’re ready to re-establish a home base from which to travel. Roaming around the west has been great, but tiring. We’ ready to have somewhere to come back to. Right now it’s a tossup between St George Utah and Madrid New Mexico. I suspect we’ll know which by November.
